The other thing about this is that it is essentially going to be a lawfare generator machine for anti-trans types. The choice for healthcare professionals will be between saving our health and saving their livelihoods. We should not be put in that position but honestly, neither should they.

The Times doing their usual reframing of a straightforward case of an author and publisher facing the long arm of the law and deciding to stand up for their principles. So naturally, it’s time to speak to an (allegedly) racist author that was so inconvenienced the BBC ran a six-part series on her?
“Times Radio: Sally Rooney could spark ‘purity spiral’ after pulling books from UK shelves over Palestine Action support
Thursday October 15 2026, 10.10am, The Times
Sally Rooney’s decision to pull her works from UK shelves over her previous commitment to donate the proceeds of her book sales to Palestine Action is “unnerving” and could spark a “purity spiral”, says author Kate Clanchy, who received an apology from her publisher four years after her book received an online backlash for alleged racism.”

apropos of recent thoughts about how misinformation spreads, I found myself reflecting on the time Eoin O'Malley wrote of Imane Khelif that "World Boxing last week released the result of sex tests that show he is biologically male", an event that did not happen www.independent.ie/comment/eoin...
Another group now used to being labelled “far right” are so-called TERFs. The word — trans-exclusionary radical feminists — is used as a term of abuse against a group that generally regard themselves as left-wing.
But feminists who dared to criticise those gender theorists who claim anyone can be a man or a woman if they just say they feel like one, are not “one of us”, so they must be “far right”.
During the last Olympics, when there was a controversy over the Algerian boxer Imane Khelif fighting in the women’s category, it was common for anyone who questioned his sex to be labelled “far right”. World Boxing last week released the results of sex tests that show he is biologically male.
The TERFs were proven right — not “far right”.

Henry Hopwood-Phillips, another Critic writer, ADMITTED 2 counts of taking an indecent photo and 2 counts of distributing indecent images of a child. He now has a sexual harm prevention order and is subject to lifetime sex offender notification requirements 18/
Extract from Daily Mail:

Salem was charged by Thames Valley Police in May this year along with Henry Hopwood-Phillips, a historian and geopolitical analyst. They both wrote for the The Critic magazine as freelance contributors.

Hopwood-Phillips, 39, founded a Singapore-based political consultancy that specialises in analysing China’s geopolitics.

In June he admitted two counts of taking an indecent photograph and two counts of distributing indecent photographs of a child at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court.

He was handed a 15-month suspended sentence, a sexual harm prevention order and made subject to lifetime sex offender notification requirements.
