Jake Tapper (moderating the 2028 Dem primary debate): Final question. Do you renounce the Western Massachusetts lesbian bar? Pete Buttigieg: I renounce it. Kamala: I renounce it. AOC: I renounce it. Gavin Newsom: I will be deploying the National Guard to Greenfield on day one of my administration.

Hasan Piker is not nearly as important to electoral politics as the media is treating him as and it’s frankly embarrassing. Yet another example of the media believing the commentary class is the center of the political universe.

This may be politically incorrect, but I think people in a primary should vote for the candidate whose policies they actually like, rather than what they think some imaginary other voter would want. This is one reason why nothing ever really changes electorally.

Video of an ICE agent pulling a gun on a wife and mother, who is a US citizen born and raised in the area, near Bailey's Crossroads in Northern Virginia yesterday. Chillingly, they claimed she “almost ran them over” until she told them she had video proving that was a lie.

good on this guy, an underrated One Weird Trick to unfuck so much of California is to not allow Island Cities like Piedmont. If every border you have is with the same incorporated city, you are a tax dodge and you should not exist.

the New Deal was like a catastrophe for the working class. the class peace it bought preserved capitalism after the Great Depression and allowed for America's consolidation of power with Bretton-Woods. This is, in practice if not in rhetoric, a fascistic argument from Mamdani.

We’re not running away from the Democratic Party. We’re going back to what the party used to be.

You think about FDR and LaGuardia. You think about the New Deal. That’s what the Democratic Party once was. That’s what it could be again.

And if we want to win, I

Using lists of three is not an "AI tell." It's a common trait in human writing because our brains biologically want to make sure there's always one thing to marry, one thing to fuck, and one thing to murder.

I don’t care if I’m “bioessentialist” for being broadly distrustful of men. I’d rather be overly discerning than raped or roofied or abused as many of my female friends have been.

This comment is particularly striking but there are others. There is a huge gulf between “rapist” and “man that is safe to be around.” The important part of the M&M hypothetical is that you have no way of knowing which of the ten men is a rapist. And at least 2 of the bsky.app/profile/arml...

The abject lack of women in the comments is not surprising. Another example of how Bluesky is utterly incapable of having conversations about gender and gender relations that include women. I’ve yet to find one of these threads that does not center men.

Germany lost a fourth of its pre-war land, paid billions in reparations, and was occupied by the Allies for years, who dictated the reconstruction of their society. 12 million ethnic Germans were expelled from East Prussia and other eastern territories.

I’d say most contemporary historians of 20th century German history challenge this “straight line” thesis of excessive punishment. The most famous is probably Sally Marks (see “Mistakes and Myths: The Allies, Germany, and the Versailles Treaty”)
