Male frogs in agricultural and secondary rainforest in Borneo have higher frequency calls compared to those in primary rainforest, which may be the result of a behavioral shift of females (which usually prefer low-frequency calls). Great talk by Jennifer Sheridan at #SAGE26!

Convergence of thermal pits in boas, pythons, and vipers using the TRPA1 ion channel is not be due to parallel substitutions. Tianqi Huang showed that pit vipers have a ton of sites under selection, whereas boas have a single spot. #JMIH26

108 climate transitions in pit vipers shown by @lpnunez.bsky.social. Looking at 23 pit viper genomes showed that, of 636 genes, 36 showed evidence for intensifying selection disproportionally happening in peptide binding sites for immune receptors. FACE MELTING! #JMIH26
