Awful: Per CPD, yesterday around 5:22 PM, a male sedan driver, 22, failed to stop at the 4-way stop sign at 82nd/Blackstone in Avalon Park, critically injuring a man, 47, on a bicycle. The motorist received multiple citations. Let's wish the victim a full recovery.

Thankfully SBC contributing photog @ericallixrogers.com wasn't more badly injured. We've been told a man w/ mental illness slashed at him and another bike rider Eric met on the way to the "ghost bike" ceremony for Juan Martin Marquez. Suspect is in custody. Other cyclist is OK. Get well soon Eric!

Tragic: On Sat. 9/19 "around 1:11 a.m., a 23-year-old man was walking along Lake Shore Drive near East Burton Place when he climbed over the median into the northbound lanes and was struck by a blue sedan [driver]." The pedestrian died from his injuries. www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/p...
