Divvy has become an essential part of how Chicagoans move through our city, and this contract extension is about making sure the system continues to work for more people in more neighborhoods.

Today, the Tribune published an op-ed by me and three of my colleagues on the immediate actions we must take to prevent further traffic fatalities on our road. Read it below. www.chicagotribune.com/2026/09/15/o...

Aldermen: Riley O’Neil died a preventable death. We can’t cut funding for safe streets.
The number of fatal crashes on Chicago roadways remain stubbornly high because of a lack of committed action.

Chicago deserves safe, healthy housing for all. Current rental inspections are largely complaint-based, but proactive inspections can prevent unsafe conditions before they impact renters. Join a community meeting and share your story: linktr.ee/impactforequ... #ChicagoHousing

Today, we stood with survivors of violence perpetrated by ICE and community members demanding justice and accountability. Our communities deserve to feel safe, respected, and protected from abuse of power. No one is above the law. Not even federal agents.

It was a privilege working with Garien Gatewood over the last three years. He was a consummate professional and an essential leader in reducing gun violence in Chicago. The 1st Ward would not have experienced a 70%+ reduction in shootings without him. His firing is a tremendous loss for the city.
