The biggest win for the Chicago left (up to that point) came in 2019 when rapper-turned-politician Andre Vasquez unseated Chicago Alderman Patrick O'Connor in Ward 40 on the north side. O'Connor had represented the area for almost 40 years before he lost by 8 points to Vasquez.

This happened yesterday, a result of there being no traffic direction at Argyle/Western following some sewer work at an intersection that is forcing traffic onto argyle and out to western. The city doesn’t have anyone to direct traffic in instances like this, so I will be doing so until they do.
