I keep seeing this Semafor graph that seems to show the Trump administration’s effect on international visits is comparable to the pandemic. My first thought was “that can’t be true” and indeed it is not. This is monthly data. We only have to Jun/Aug 2026. The lines are over-fitted to the months.

I might have to dig into how the agent subcommands are run and if there’s a common pattern for telling them what tools to use, so that can be part of any design as well. What are you using right now to solve it? The last couple places I’ve been have used Nix, but I’ve found that frustrating.

Interesting, I hadn’t considered the toolchains as code angle. I was more thinking that optimizing for the dev velocity case isn’t as relevant when there’s more velocity gains in agentic workflows. But making it easier for both humans and agents to be on the right tools definitely fits.

Agreed, I had the same pie-in-the-sky ideas, but never had the right combination of time and expertise to fully flesh out a design. And lately I’ve been wondering if the rise of agentic workflows has made tools like Volta obsolete. Or at least not nearly as useful as it was in the before times.

Does it involve Tyvar hitting Nature’s Rhythm on the minus? I can get to infinite mana + creatures (play vitality, play Tyvar, get back fiend artisan and tutor up squirrel girl with artisan + nykthos mana), but not how to convert that into an actual win this turn.
