wonder if we'll see this get *critical* coverage in mainstream media, or will it be another excuse - like for Laws, Ikilei, Henry, Jones and Peters himself - to platform and amplify extremist rhetoric OR just give the guy an easy little puffpiece interview to profile lies to the public?

#nzpol In relation to alleged "$cost" of restoring pay equity ... Am interested in "$cost" of: (1) abolishing child labour? (2) abolishing slavery? (3) forcing employers to provide safe working places? (4) allowing workers to take annual leave? "$Cost" is NOT relevant🤔. They are rights✊. 🙏

The 4 panel meme of a pigeon doing stand-up. The pigeon says, "I'm announcing a new road". An audience member heckles the pigeon saying "Boo. Get better material!" The pigeon, visibly distressed and speechless consults cue cards, which just say "Roads, roads,roads..."

This RNZ article demonstrates pretty clearly that the moderators let Peters run over them - and reveals the "Winston won" narrative is just a result of Winston talked more and longer than anyone else. That's poor work from the moderators! It's favouring the govt. www.rnz.co.nz/news/politic...
Who talked the most?

Peters chalked up 3013 discernable words during the debate compared to second place Seymour's 2781.

Waititi said 2122 words and Swarbrick and Wong both fewer than 2000. At just 1045 words, Wong spoke roughly a third of the words as Peters.

The percentage of words Peters spoke was in line with his performances in debates in 2020 and 2023.

Day two of the campaign and we've got Luxon insisting Labour will have to do every Green, TPM and Opportunity policy while also stating that he would not do NZ First or ACT policy. This will not receive accurate contextual comment that is clearly hypocritical blathering.

The reason Seymour and Peters hate RNZ is because Seymour hates all public media and Peters can't get away with his cooked culture war Reality Check Radio bull dust. That RNZ appear to be slowly disintegrating their integrity because of those two idiots is rank cowardice from RNZs board and leaders.

It could also have wider economic effects; when low paid workers have less money, they buy less at the supermarket, less food is ordered from suppliers, than flows on to growers. You can't have a successful economy when a large chuck of the population can't afford to participate in it

Given today's fiscal announcement we're getting closer to NZ experiencing a UK 2015 election. A first term unpopular coalition of austerity nutbars win a second term against a Labour party with a weak leadership and an obsession with being Diet Tory to win over the right wing media and donors.
