Obsessed with Damascus goats lately. They look like they were created by H. R. Giger. They both looks and sound stupid as hell. An utter catastrophe of an animal. I love them.

Was watching the video for "This is Where I Came In" by the Bee Gees and, well, my brain wouldn't leave me alone about this...
Two panels:

1. Barry Gibbs in a leather jacket and sunglasses singing "THIS IS THE DANGER ZONE, THIS IS WHERE I--"

2. Sterling Archer interrupting rudely yelling " Danger zoneeeeee"

For better or for worse, Obama is one of the most politically savvy leaders we’ve ever seen. He was rarely wrong on the politics. That he’s discussing this situation in these terms — for what I think is the first time, really — is telling in and of itself.

Awful to watch what is happening in Toronto, but the resistance to Doug Ford's attempt to endanger people not in cars is inspiring evidence of a growing international movement. We will look back on images like this the way people in the Netherlands look back at #StopDeKindermoord photos.

A definite sign of ageing is that you cannot impress me with "over 20 years" anymore. Am I expected to think this sauce is ancient, because it's as old as Nelly Furtado's Maneater?

I bet if the Dodgers lose in the NLCS, it will prove to the other teams' owners that baseball isn't actually broken, and they'll all be super normal and stop agitating for a firm salary cap in order to save themselves money.

I recently witnessed this happen IRL, and the guy seemed surprised when everyone stopped and looked at him like “what the fuck…?” Like he thought that was just something everyone was saying in polite conversation now. A whole chunk of the adult population assertively unlearning basic social skills.

Maintaining that “Stairway to Heaven” is a really cool song that deserves coming back to it with fresh ears. (Not super interested in discussing the Narnia flick or its rollout just yet. But positioning Zep as their own genre of fantasy-glam is a nifty choice.)

in which we finish up this fraught two-parter, which stumbles in the second half by bolting the Dark Phoenix into Days of Future Past without a lot of room for any of it to breathe. oh well, at least we’re almost done with Phoenix What Ifs … right? Right? Bueller?
Review excerpt - Chris Claremont's name is gone from the credit's box - if the first chapter carried the unmistakable whiff of venting on the part of the axed X-writer, the second chapter seems to be spinning its wheels in the mode of a standard mutant-themed alternate universe. It points to a tension at the heart of What If? as a concept, still visible in the modern franchise: conflict between the series' core premise - mapping out the consequences of changes to specific turning points in established continuity - and the desire to go wide. This leads to wildly different alternate universes without necessarily showing every step of how the new world was created out of repercussions from the initial change. If that sounds overly fastidious, well, that is the premise of the series, in Roy we trust. What If … (Vol 2) #33, cover by Rodney Ramos and Jimmy Palmiotti.
