Resistors report arrests and injuries, including being pushed into barbed wire. CBP confirmed that all four cottonwoods marked for removal there are now gone. Centuries of life destroyed for two parallel walls cutting through the borderlands. We’re heartbroken and we’re angry!

For more than 70 days, resistors took turns sitting in the branches of the “Grandmother” cottonwood in Lochiel, Arizona, trying to save it and the habitat around it. This morning, Border Patrol raided their camp, removed the tree sitter, and contractors knocked it down.

A lot of what’s happening doesn’t seem to be spreading anymore by mainstream media. A tree that stood for an estimated 150–250 years was destroyed today to make way for Trump’s border wall.

These depictions offer a more compassionate portrayal of fatherhood and a more personal connection to the divine. It's a good reminder that ideas about fathers, families, religion, & relationships aren't set in stone. Art shifts culture, and culture impacts art. 🔄 🧵6/6 gty.art/3SOrwF1

Oh hi. It's my birthday 🙂 I have to say that diving into acrylic painting and book illustration over these last few years has been incredibly rewarding, and I enjoy learning more, painting more, and getting older really is quite great!
Cover illustration for "Fusion Fragment" showing a portrait of a woman facing upwards, as a mirror shatters around her. The mirror shards all show eyes of other women trapped within them. Two mask shards are also falling around her face, inspired by Japanese kabuki masks, representing her mixed heritage. Acrylic painting showing Sauron's defeat by Lúthien and Huan at Tol-in-GaurhothBook interior illustration for "Fangs for Nothing", showing the MC Winnie in a castle hallway. The scene takes inspiration from Gothic horror and Gothic romance movies, from the nightgown design to the candelabra.
A black cat hides behind Winnie's leg, a vampire hides in a dark doorway, and the red candlelight reflects of a suit of armor and several empty painting frames. Acrylic character illustration for a fantasy book commission. The two characters are shown in a sparse, partially destroyed ice palace hall. Both characters have unnaturally pale skin and are clad in black.

You don’t have to agree with one another to recognize that the government should not get to decide which journalists have access based on whether it likes their reporting. This is exactly the kind of solidarity we need when press freedom is challenged. 💚✊

Don’t shame people for not immediately reading all the books they buy. Some books aren’t made to be ready right away, okay? Some books need time to mature. Some books need to cure for a while. Some books are prosciutto, and don’t you forget it.
