Did dark money and dirty tactics swing the Scottish election?
Rules flouted as sites promoting Unionist tactical voting spent more money on ads than the SNP, while ex-BNP ‘greens' siphoned off potentially crucial votes

Tesco is extending its Kids Eat Free scheme to 7 days a week over the summer, where children get a free meal with an adult purchase, but honestly, this detail about how small the adult purchase can be broke my heart.
The Café and The Coffee Shop in Tesco will be offering one free Kids Hot Meal Deal, Kids Breakfast or Kids Pick ‘n’ Mix deal with any full price adult purchase when they scan their Tesco Clubcard. **The adult purchase could be something as small as an apple costing just 65 pence.** And with no limit to the number of Kid’s meals you can redeem, families of all sizes can benefit too.

The scenes we saw in Glasgow earlier this week, as racists took to the streets to intimidate and threaten ethnic minority Glaswegians were despicable, and this afternoon we showed a tiny, outnumbered crowd of bigots that we don't want their hatred in our city.
A photo of the anti-racist crowd in Glaagow - a sign in the centre of the shot reads "Youse are aw boggin"A photo showing the scale of the crowd at the anti-racist demo in Glasgow covering the top of Buchanan StreetA scene as the fascists are escorted out of the kettle by police, having been massively outnumbered and mocked for hoursA photo of the speakers at the anti-racist demo. Scientifically, a raven has 17 primary wing feathers, the big ones at the end of the wing. They are called pinion feathers. A crow has 16. So, the difference between a raven and a crow is only a matter of a pinion.

This is a fundamental misunderstanding of consent: ⬇️ "If a vulnerable person appears passive or does not actively protest their arrangements, the law may recognise this as "consent" — even if they are subjected to routine physical restraint or chemical sedation..." Horrific.

Prostate cancer consultant PSA; black men are at higher risk of prostate cancer, with approximately double the risk of other men. Screening programs are reliant on the incidence in the population being screened: if the incidence is low, you pick up too many other conditions (false positives).

Break from election stuff for a moment: LGBTQ+ rights is, alongside democratic systems, one of the areas I think it's important to use my platform as BBS to push on. The way the UK is treating trans people is absolutely despicable, and if you are an ally with a Labour MP, you should write to them.

I don't think it's a good idea to legally privilege someone else's discomfort over another person's rights.
13.147 A legitimate aim for excluding a trans person from a separate or single-sex service for their own sex might be to prevent discomfort or distress for other service users.

The EHRC’S new code has been published. We’ll have a detailed analysis out shortly. The guidance has been toned down from the previous draft – but it still treats trans people like they’re a third sex. This pushes trans people out of public life and violates their human rights.
