It's a mutually-beneficial arrangement for both Putin and Trump. Putin will blame Ukraine for his failure to supply the fuel and Trump will blame Ukraine for the failure for prices to fall and any mid-term disaster. It's a cynical ploy designed to squeeze Ukraine.

For UK politics, the English language is a curse as it lets our politicos obsess over American politics. As such, the US looms large, despite its alien political system and culture. After the UK lurched towards multiparty politics, Labour strategists looked to a country with only two parties.

A lot of people in the mainstream media without infosec chops have helped sensationalize these escapes. Other infosec people have pointed out their experimental designs were flawed. Here we learn that they had reports they chose to ignore.

What on earth is happening?
This had become the new normal. RNLI crew members had been forced to take their permits off their cars after their tyres have been repeatedly slashed. Most of them have been pilloried at the school gates or turned away from local pubs. One man who worked in search and rescue had been beaten unconscious and hospitalised, recognised for TV interviews he had done.

Labour has already reacted to the C4 News story about Reform's corruption, so it's not like the media team are asleep. Yet still no response to the vile racism directed at one of its council leaders by a senior Reform figure. It's almost like, as in Starmer's time, they don't care much about racism.

Sooner or later, what your state system walks past without stopping, still less enables, is the reality of your state system, because a system is what it does. Those to whom that is done unchecked may have a far more acute perception of those realities than those convinced it’s an aberration.

Not only do I think he's lying that police advised him not to attend on safety grounds, I think it's a lie he used before back in 2016. He 'cancelled' a march on safety grounds but my FOI request to the Met showed this was a lie.
Farage pretended to cancel a march back in 2016 that he had no intention of organising.FOI request showing Farage never submitted a 3175 form informing police of a demonstration and had no safety discussions with police.FOI request showing police did not advise Farage to cancel his 2016 march, contrary to what he told the press.

There really is a culture war underway (a front in a wider war). One side wants an internationally backed coup to repurpose the UK state for post-democracy. The other - most people - wants to rebuild & needs someone to lead them in opposing the others. Do that & you begin to win legitimacy (4/4).

And the new leadership rules are an overcorrection, in that they have incentivised the coalescing of a factionalised soft left/middle and thereby denied the liberal revisionist bit of the right an opening.

Actually, if I were to be really spiky, I would point out that the Labour right convinced themselves under Corbyn that Labour members were entirely disconnected from Labour voters, and have responded by becoming even more disconnected from Labour voters because they're too similar to Labour members.

Who's the billionaire behind London’s biggest mass eviction?
He's the London philanthropist who says he's committed to solving homelessness. So why is Asif Aziz's Criterion Capital rushing to make hundreds of Londoners homeless in the coming weeks?

The Antonia Romeo who did more than most to saddle us with Palantir? That Antonia Romeo?
