Just a reminder: Tillis persuaded the woman Hegseth allegedly raped to come forward with her story, and told her that if she did, it would sink the nomination. She did. At great risk to herself. Tillis then cast the deciding vote for Hegseth. Because he’s a goddamned coward.

Hey, I’m just asking questions. Ignorant questions, bigoted questions, questions that have been repeatedly answered for many years. Sorry, but I’m not listening to answers right now; I’m far too busy asking questions. It’s called being intellectually curious.

Is being super intoxicated on controlled substances ever debated as potentially exculpating for any violent crime other than sexual assault? It’s like saying: sure he was driving while intoxicated when he ran that lady over but that’s just cause he was wasted.

The ORIGINS of the "protect women's sports" campaign are in anti-trans bigotry. The people funding these initiatives (eg in WA) are anti-trans FAR beyond sports. They repeatedly misgender trans people and have shared views & funded initiatives that push trans people out of other parts of public life

They quoted me in this New Yorker piece about AI today. www.newyorker.com/culture/the-...
“Let’s say there’s a world or time line I exist in where A.I. has been subject to regulation. It is ethical. It has no footprint environmentally,” the novelist Jeff VanderMeer, a prominent critic of A.I., told me over the phone. “With those guardrails in place, would I read an A.I. book? All I can say is no. And the reason is, in part, because I want to read something coming from a particular mind.” Using A.I., he said, “feels like a betrayal of the whole point of why you’re a writer.”
