Just finished SUNRISE by Téa Obreht and I need to go stare at a wall for a bit. Fascinating book. Three timelines swirling together. Part wilderness survival, part western, part mystery. Masterful prose. Gonna be thinking about this one for a while.

I have made a terrible mistake. I had a beautiful flower (A Lily) and thought I could improve its beauty by applying a gold coating to decorate it further - in fact, this proved to destroy the flower, make it tacky and generally be a waste of gold. I wish someone had warned me about this.
