Asking for a little help with one of the articles of my thesis. Does anyone know a guide or paper discussing the use of survey weights in multilevel models with panel data? I’m struggling a bit with understanding which is the best way to include them in my model. Or if not include them altogether.

Thrilled to share our new paper with amazing Agus. We show that non-traditional families, especially open and age-gap couples, face substantial prejudice. Even LGB couples encounter bias, highlighting persistent inequalities in societies often seen as tolerant.

❗My first publication is out! Using a conjoint experiment with adoption solicitations, @bertous.bsky.social and I demonstrate that modern societies still exhibit prejudice against non-traditional relationships, including same-sex, open and age-gap couples More below and in @poqjournal.bsky.social
Abstract of the paper, it reads: How widespread is sexual liberalism in tolerant societies? Theoretical and descriptive evidence suggests an overall liberalization in societal views on topics such as women’s rights and homosexuality. Yet, relying on sexual norms theory, this study unveils persistent sexual prejudice. We differentiate between “normalized” sexual issues, like same-gender marriage, which have gained mainstream acceptance, and “nonnormalized” issues, such as nontraditional sexual practices and relationships, which remain stigmatized. Through a conjoint experiment in Catalonia, Spain, we investigate public attitudes toward adoptive parents with varying sexual orientations, relationship types, and age differences, confirming that discriminatory preferences are prevalent in contexts with low social desirability. By highlighting the continued prejudice against both normative and nonnormative sexual issues, this research contributes to our understanding of the dynamics of sexual attitudes and the challenges facing LGBTQ+ politics and rights.

X is the megaphone of 21st century fascism and authoritariansim. It has poisoned public debate. It is a tool for bullying, abuse, and assault. X needs to disappear from our discourse. When people and institutions post there, it gives X credibility. It keeps it relevant. It's time to stop.

The success of the far right is not only measured in votes and seats but in its impact on rhetoric, policy and ideology. The fact that a (nominally) social democratic head of government with a huge majority choses to say and do this is maybe the biggest success of the far right in Europe yet.
