Baby, going viral on Twitter was always TRAUMATIC. I don’t think we talk about that enough. And actually, I kinda feel it’s like that on any platform. Even when going viral is what you think you wanted, it very quickly escalates from “whee!!!” to “uh oh” to death threats.

Thread of illustrated journeys I've made 🧵 Starting with The Hero's Journey by Joseph Campbell. This was my first one. Nowadays, I make all of these counterclockwise to illustrate the importance of moving against the norm, against what is expected.

The Hero's Journey as depicted on a circle, starting at the top half of the circle (the ordinary world) and traveling clockwise and down into the second half (the special world) through 16 story moments.
1. Call to adventure
2. Refusal of the call
3. Supernatural aid
4. Crossing the first threshold
5. Initiation
6. Road of trials
7. Meeting with the goddess
8. The Second Threshold
9. Apotheosis
10. The ultimate boon
11. Refusal of the return
12. The third threshold
13. Rescue from without
14. The final threshold
15. Master of two worlds
16. Freedom to live
