Not really happy with the play calling so far from Shanny in high leverage spots. Bad decision to QB sneak on essentially 4th and 2 and not wild about that run call on 3rd and 3 either.

Cool I started Mariota and Barkley in my superflex league today. Really cool.

It’s hard to say what an appropriately severe punishment should be. Automatic 100 point deduction this season? Yes Relegate them multiple divisions? Yes. Figure out a way to force the UAE out and to sell the team? Yes. Prolonged transfer ban? Yes Khaldoon and the other perps banned? Yes.

The only consolation was that touchdown drive took a long time but really it’s got to be the offense that has to win the game here.

It’s not like anything bad has happened before when the 49ers have had a 10 point fourth quarter lead

It would be nice if they tried to cover Michael Wilson at all today.

"The early days of Andy Burnham’s government have made Starmer’s look positively energetic: a PM who usually loves nothing more than being on camera has studiously avoided saying a word as he loses control of law and order in Britain, and his home secretary seems determined to appease the thugs."

If Shabana Mahmood is tough, why is she so slow to crack down on Danny Tommo and the far right?
Weeks of what looks like blatant lawbreaking have finally resulted in an arrest. But the home secretary seems happy to look elsewhere

It’s just terrible unevidenced uninformed nonsense from Burnham. Wrong on every level.

The Dolphins defense is laughable but Brock looks really good out there. I now want to see him on the bench along with the old guys.

Almost like they had to call the TD on that saints play given the facemask was not reviewable and it would have been a turnover on downs if no TD. Real hole in the rule book situation.

Disappointing to draw this game after giving away a late goal but a draw isn’t a bad result and they’ve come out of this brutal run of fixtures to start the season relatively in tact.

Ultimately the only thing that really matters about the Burnham Premiership, as with Biden’s Presidency, is defending democracy from the far right at home and from abroad. So far, as with Biden, it’s been pretty disappointing to put it mildly.

A pretty good result I think given Saints just smashed an excellent Millwall team 5-1 at the weekend. Certainly could have been more if Jay had his shooting boots on.

Chuffed for Chris Davies with that win! Now if we can back it up with a good rousing home performance v Saints in midweek that would be super.

I was somewhat encouraged after last week and now discouraged after this weeks lucky draw. Just really blunt in attack. Lots of the ball but no chance creation. And a bit soft defensively again - a lot like last season. Wrexham next at home - big game for Chris Davies I think.

Given how bad we were and soft we were away from home last season that was a very competent performance by @birminghamcityfc.bsky.social today. Not a game to be remembered for long but thought we controlled the game and made Sheffield Utd look very ordinary. EBI - better attacking set pieces.

Is the play from Farage to resign citing the usual excuses, disappear to America for a bit, let Reform implode for two years in infighting, then declare it is necessary to return just as the next general election homes into view in the hope we’ll have forgotten all the donations/corruption stuff.

Farage has properly lost his touch. Old confident Farage would have known to play along with the Binface gag. New insecure Farage can't bring himself to do it. And that's why the headlines are about him staying away from the vote rather than the fact that he won it.

Farage’s biggest achievement was convincing Labour that "Red Wall" voters are a monolith who hate asylum seekers and care workers, despise local universities, and reject culture. Labour swallowed a caricature of working-class communities whole—and rebuilt their entire strategy around it.

Folks: these days the England system has BTECs, T-Levels, degree apprenticeships, a whole load of other apprenticeship assessments, and very flexible HE entry across a broad range of providers, including foundation years for those without L3. We already *have* a lot of pathways!

One reason I'm so opposed to early selection is it means the sorting process is essentially done in advance by teachers/parents and so kids aren't even given a chance on the route that leads to the high status and well paid jobs.

Cities dismantled their tram networks to become “motor cities of the future”. The result? You could travel further within 30 mins via public transport in 1957 than you can in 2026. Cities are seeking billions to rebuild networks. Incredible piece of work this.

One of the best bits about this World Cup has been the fact that there have been very few penalty shootouts (just one from the last 16 onwards in the terrible Switzerland v Colombia game). Hope someone does something to avoid it today.

Like this from @timharford.ft.com on how inclusive design principles can often help all users, not those just seen as traditionally excluded www.ft.com/content/4d8e...
Subtitles help people who can't hear what the actors are saying - and it turns out that, for some gritty dramas, that is all of us. Web pages that are designed with screen readers for the blind in mind are typically better structured, simpler and friendlier for mobile devices. The Oxo kitchen appliance company was founded by a retired cookware entrepreneur whose wife had arthritis, but the chunky rubber handles are far more widely enjoyed. And of course, the dropped kerb may be life-changing for wheelchair users but it is pretty convenient for anyone pushing a pram.
The challenges faced by users who are unusually small, large, old or young, or who have disabilities, are, writes Epstein, "more extreme versions of the challenges that
many other users face"
