Kitty paw prints on a Roman clay tile! 😻 🐾 A tiny moment in time preserved in clay some 2,000 years ago when a kitten walked across this wet clay tile which was lying out to dry before firing. Lullingstone Roman Villa, Kent 📷 by me #Caturday #Archaeology
My photo shows two kitten pawprints imprinted on a Roman red clay roof tile (tegula). There are two prints, one print near the upper left corner of the tile and another below it closer to the centre. Each imprint has four toe pads arranged in a gentle arc at the top of a larger central pad. There are no visible claw marks (unlike with dogs prints) as cats usually retract their claws when walking.
The imprints were made as a kitten walked across a wet clay tile which was lying out to dry before firing. The tile was found at Lullingstone Roman Villa in Kent, where it is on display at the site museum.

So I went to the AMC in Westminster CO to see Disclosure Day in IMAX and a mouse crawled up onto my drink cup and, turns out, there were mousetraps under the seats, too. Avoid! (But see this great movie elsewhere; I actually stuck it out in a new seat without my drink.)

Can't wait until the door hits Jared Polis' ass. It's long been clear that all that matters to him is money--which makes this decision even more suspicious.

Will just reiterate that in the many years I covered Polis closely, he never showed particular interest in the topic of over-sentencing, nor in criminal justice reform generally. This decision would read a lot differently if Polis had any sort of record as an advocate for clemency.

Any Democrat in a position of power should oppose this loudly and immediately. Make antitrust laws a campaign issue. Fight it every way imaginable. Do not hand over mass media to a creepy dad-son dyad who want to cozy up to an increasingly loathed president bent on maintaining power illegitimately.

It's Friday. And I want you to enjoy these fabulous eels from a 19th C. children's reader, printed on cloth. Also note the resplendent goat. That's a goat you could take home to meet your mother. Or...is it? Have a eely good weekend, 'y'all! 🗃️🧪
A book, looking old and tatty, open so that you can see both pages. On the verso (left) is a set of poems, next to B&W drawings of eels, a frog, a goat, and a hare. On the rector (right) are colored versions of those animals. The eel is swimming with an oyster and a seal. The frog is sitting on a log reading. The goat is strutting his stuff in a maroon robe, and the hare is in a chair. Around the edges are the letters E, G, F, and H, large and orange.

The goat *looks* sophisticated and classy. But that's packaging. He's absolutely showing a bit of leg to passersby. Standing by the fence, teasing his wares; that classy goat is for sale.

The poems read:

E is an eel
that danced a round reel
With a very large oyster
and very fat sea.

F is a frog
that sat on a log
and sang a nice song
to his friends in the bog.

G is for goat
that wore a long coat
that made him look quite
like a wise man of note

H is a hare
that sat in a chair
and thought of course no one
would know he was there.

Stella Carlson said that before the shooting, the man was helping vehicle traffic get around the area where ICE agents and observers had started to gather.
"The gentleman I was standing next to was focused on helping people who were coming into Nicollet Avenue understand that they needed to take it slow and helping them get through. The ICE agents approached us, told us to back up, back up. I'm not even sure why we were helping them, if anything. And I got on the snow bank, and next thing I knew, they shot him," Carlson said.
