I like the sc-fi post-apocalyptic space setting & time-dilation plot + the twist. Not super interesting characters though, and while anime Godzilla looks pretty cool, the overly CG style is kind of uncanny. 010

Mark Phillips @bamfpimp.bsky.social · 14/10/2026Hopefully last planning rant. Still like 3 things too many, but “perfected” my reading schedule. Happier 1 issue per day - ex: Spawn has 5+ ongoings but I’d rather an issue of an arc than juggle at expense of Top Cow/Sonic time, etc. Exception is Bat/SW/X-Men, need 2/day for hope of completion. 100
Mark Phillips @bamfpimp.bsky.social · 13/10/2026Not complaining, but I’ve considered various scenarios and dreamed about how cool(and expensive) the first Stairway to Heaven climax needle drop in a movie trailer would be for years and years. Did not expect it to happen in a dang children’s movie Narnia trailer. 000
Mark Phillips @bamfpimp.bsky.social · 13/10/2026X-Men: First Class (5) June 3, 2011 Fairly confident this is my favorite X movie. Closest we’ll get to a team origin ‘60s period piece. Kevin Bacon has the most charisma of a non-McKellen villain, but a weird Hellfire Club. And you can’t think AT ALL about character ages in relation to comics. 110
Mark Phillips @bamfpimp.bsky.social · 13/10/2026Batman: Assault on Arkham (DCAU 32) July 29, 2014 Fun & solid. Honestly not that far off from the live action film 2 years later, just set fully in Arkham, with more Batman and focused in particular on his villains. Pretty much fits right in with the Rocksteady games, with a lot of the same cast. 000

Mark Phillips @bamfpimp.bsky.social · 12/10/2026Near conceding defeat on comic recaps. Thought I’d untangled the mess of starting w/how deep in Marvel I am, but it’s too time-consuming to do all of it just “for fun”. Unfortunately if I want to read Bats, X-Men & Star Wars in this lifetime it’s gotta be concurrent. At least a decade total each. 100

Mark Phillips @bamfpimp.bsky.social · 11/10/2026I enjoy month to month comic breakdowns more than trying to piece together a coherent chronology across decades and multiple universes. Post aesthetics though I think, IF I’m to recap forever, I visually like 1 cover at a time more than batching weeks or months together in smaller thumbnails. 100

Mark Phillips @bamfpimp.bsky.social · 10/10/2026I fear the detail of knowledge I’m gaining from internets as I read through Star Wars. Mark Phillips @bamfpimp.bsky.social · 10/10/2026Everything I’m invested in current now except Rangers, I think - closer start than I realized - I’ll give this return to weekly viewing one more go for VisionQuest, but pretty sure I’ve re-wired my brain to prefer just an episode of 1 show every day through a season, starting just before the finale. 000
Mark Phillips @bamfpimp.bsky.social · 10/10/2026Trek delayed me a few days, but finished Lanterns. Like it quite a bit, acting is great. Kinda felt odd though it basically climaxes 2/3 through and then the pace slows drastically. Mark Phillips @bamfpimp.bsky.social · 09/10/2026Think I’m liking this comic recap model, though we’ll see how difficult it gets to cram in a paragraph once multiple issues hit per week/month. Mark Phillips @bamfpimp.bsky.social · 08/10/2026I think that’s the plan, I’ll roll reading Batman awhile(in 1944, so OnLy like 50 months to recap) & I’ll cycle in others when Marvel ramps in the ‘60s and Star Wars in the ‘70s. Believe that’s all I want to post, don’t think I care to that extent about FF or Dredd or GI Joe to cover their history. 100
Mark Phillips @bamfpimp.bsky.social · 08/10/2026I’ve concluded in my comic reading that if I’m to “recap” the series I want - Batman, Star Wars, Spider-Man, X-Men - I’m more interested in it historically & in artwork than actually breaking down stories beat by beat. 100

Mark Phillips @bamfpimp.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Marvel Tokon Very cool visuals and animations. Don’t think I’m the market. 4v4 seems too much to me, battles go quick so I feel like I’m just a character with 3 assists than learning combos & picking favorite supers/ultimates. Better in vs where you can create any team, but I prefer 1v1 or 2v2. 100
