Pterosaurs: An Artistic History in Four Parts (Art by Joseph Smit, Zdenek Burian, John Sibbick, and @markwitton.bsky.social)

A mixed group of pterosaurs, all with slick, featureless skin and pointed, swooping wings. Some soar with outstretched limbs, others cling frog-like to a stony cliff, and others perch with their feet flat on the rock.

A Pteranodon with a plump, bat-like torso and short, stumpy legs drops a mouthful of fish to a group of sprawled, leathery-skinned young which are strewn about the top of a stony seaside cliff. In the distance, two other giant pterosaurs can be seen soaring toward the sea below.

Two huge ornithocheirid pterosaurs with rounded crests at the end of their snout soar over coastal waves, while a smaller, duller pterosaur with no crest feeds its well-developed youngster in a bird-like fashion.

Two enormous azhdarchids with slender builds and erect, upright stances scavenge the carcass of a dead Triceratops beside a pond. One stands tall, while the other is mid-launch, carrying a strip of meat in its beak.

Hey, remember that Willy Wonka experience scam? The one hallucinated by AI, promising a magical candy wonderland for children and it was total shit? This poor woman, hired as a Oompa Loompa, is at a station that looks like a shitty high school science lab that had its funding cut and its lab equipment raided by students to make meth. The Oompa Loompa is in a green wig and a cheap costume, her expression resigned. Every decision that led her to this moment was a mistake. The room is full of smoke and might be on fire.

Streaming services with ads means it sort of just full circled back to Cable Tv. Except now there are no cartoons because streaming killed them. So we just cycled back to the start, but killed several entire mediums (sitcoms, teen and kid animation) in the process.
