If they really wanted to solve this problem they could just raise taxes on large private pensions along with income tax on high wages but its important that anything they do only negatively impacts on the poor.

Anecdotal but the majority of people I know are in jobs where wages have fallen in real terms, bottom rung admin jobs that were a couple of quid above minium wage (so about 3 or 4 quid above in today's terms) that are now about 30-40p over at best.

There was no constant deluge of being exposed to fucking stupid liberal opinions so people didn't do a fraction as much political posting so you got to see a lot of people posting about their hobbies and pleasures. Also the main characters were much weirder (better).

Not really bizarre but at primary one of the teachers used to tell us Anansi stories which given that a lot of the rest of the time we got bible stuff (didnt go to religious school, it was just the 80s) meant till around 8/9 I thought Jesus & the spider god were both part of this countries pantheon.
