There's a short story collection - Ladies of Grace Adieu which might not be a bad place to start if youre wanting to dip your toes in (cos Johnathan Strange is a commitment. Its a very worthwhile commitment & i cant recommend it enough but she was basically this generations Tolkien with that one).
