One of Hideo Kojima's real talents is that he would have exactly this idea but the stew would be dropped off by a drone that sings a little jingle which can alert enemies if they're in range. You then get a phone call from a nuclear scientist who warns you not to eat too much starch and dairy.

Full burst is just an upgraded version of burst that you won't get until (I think) chapter 3, and which requires a full party (so sometimes you'll lose access to it for a while because the story just says so)

chain/burst/full burst brave attacks will do more damage (usually) than a follow-up; the advantage of follow-ups is that they don't use any brave points to do, so it's just free damage

Only to a certain degree - levels in each area will cap out, so that you can sorta overlevel it (especially if you do all the side content as soon as it's available instead of advancing the main story, which is how I play RPGs), but they'll jump up once you get to the next leg of the story.
