Watching S3 of Reacher. He's climbing down a house and uses the gutter to lower himself. The fact the gutter didn't bend or rip free holding his weight is the single least believable thing ever depicted on this show.

Finished God's Junk Drawer by Peter Clines. Enjoyed it quite a lot. Basically, what if a bunch of astronomy students ended up in Land of the Lost and had to survive dinosaurs, Neanderthals, and Neanderthals riding dinosaurs, but they have a janky robot butler from the future to help them out.

I would much rather look at a YouTube thumbnail from a photoshop amateur than an AI one. Hell, my immediate distaste for AI thumbnails only encourages me to never improve my crappy Photoshop skills. I already get enough grief from bozos who accuse my poorly photo-chopped images of being AI slop.

Reading A Scout Is Brave. Fun little novella following a boy in 1963 who moves to the crumbling town of Innsmouth. He and the only other boy in town, Aubrey Marsh, form a little scout troop. Together, they explore that weird abandoned Navy Hospital outside of town, learn of god, and other hijinks.

After an extended weekend getaway with the siblings in Colorado, I'm back home. While I loved the company, the beautiful mountain scenery, and significantly cooler weather, I'm happy to be back home where the oxygen is. Our cats are super-pissed about our leaving them.

Call of Cthulhu used to do these campaign guide books, Secrets of New Orleans, Secrets of San Francisco, etc. that laid out the occult and sinister underbellies of those settings. I want to make Secrets of Denver International Airport, because I'm always struck by how profoundly weird this place is.

Changing the title 'Chariot of the Gods' to 'Chariot of the Angels' for the new Alien edition feels goofy. I always loved the literary references of Alien RPG adventure titles. 'Destroyer of Worlds' 'Heart of Darkness' 'Chariot of the Angels' loses the punch. Keep the name. Change the cover art.

We decided to watch Season 1 of Day of the Jackal (2024), so of course I started with watching the original 1973 film. Both were fantastic, but I'm amazed at how well the show reimagined it as a present-day thriller with a very different plot, while simultaneously a faithful remake of the film.

Side-by-side comparison of the 'zeroing the custom sniper rifle' scene from both the 1973 and 2024 Day of the Jackal versions. They are strikingly similar from the camera angle, the way he tied the rifle to the tree, to their clothing - including red neckerchiefs with white dots

Normally, the SOP I've adopted for crowdfunded games is I watch, wait, and weigh how much I really want it or think how much I'll still want it once it eventually arrives. Sometimes the campaign ends before I make up my mind. I didn't hesitate for this one.
