I’m livid. My boy Killua has digestive problems, and a week and a half ago stopped eating, was hiding, and was straining to poop. Our normal emergency vet was overloaded, so I took him to another one in the area. After a four hour wait, I was told he just had diarrhea (he had a tiny bit). They said

On the way home through my neighborhood, I pulled over to let a car pass (due to parked cars, only one could get by), when my roomie started freaking out. Just off the curb in a little dog park was this barred owl, who had just caught dinner! We just got a quick photo and moved on so he could eat ❤️

Decided to review some of my photo from last year to see if I missed any bird IDs now that I’m more experienced. Looking at some of my Florida pics, turns out the out of focus heron I got photos of was not a blue heron like I thought, but in fact is a tri-colored heron! That was an exciting find!

There's an interesting problem in digital preservation, which is that preservation only exists actively. Only the things you actively move to new formats, survives. Community is probably the same way: it has to be actively maintained in order to outlive whatever spot it's currently in.
