Not long ago, the game was almost finished but I felt it needed a bit more in terms of the variety of art and racetracks. I always try to make games which are a bit unhinged, so who better to contact than Keita Takahashi? He was available to do a bit of work, and I'm very happy with the results!

It's really refreshing seeing shitey normal working class life depicted like this in a game, and a Silent Hill game no less. Pebble-dashed council flats, three-bar fires, Post Office counters, concrete shopping precincts. This must be how posh people felt playing Everybody's Gone to the Rapture.

Some people crunched on it for years before it was cancelled. At the start it was meant to be the whole of Washington DC and you could go inside every single building. By the end, the scope had been massively cut, and it was maybe a year away from being a releasable game

I should clarify that unlike Molyneux, he wasn't adding random features to games during interviews. But there was sometimes a big gap between his vision and the practicality of achieving that vision, the biggest example being The Outsider

He was very good at publicity. As I recall, the planet in the game wasn't an amazing match for the one discovered, but he spun it to be closer match than it really was. He did go a bit Molyneux sometimes. Having made something so revolutionary, he underestimated the difficulty of certain projects

I played this when I was 15, six years later I was working for David Braben. A few years later, when an exoplanet was discovered around a nearby star system, he asked me to boot up the game to check if he'd correctly predicted the planet

YouTube changed the way they count views to make the numbers look bigger, although I don't think that would explain a 3x increase. If you go into the analytics page, there's a metric called "Engaged views" which is the old system, so you can compare like with like
