Looks like online activity around AfD was... causally linked to Russian data centers, via @angrystaffer.bsky.social
# Image Description

This is a screenshot of a post from **X.com (Twitter)** by **Tomáš Zdechovský** (@TomasZdechovsky), whose account displays a verified badge and a profile photo of a man in a suit.

## Post Text

> "If confirmed, this is telling: Russian data centres get hit, and online activity around AfD suddenly plummets. 📉
>
> So much talk about German patriotism… then the connection from Russia goes down. 🤔🇷🇺"

## Attached Chart

Below the text is a line graph with a German title:

- **Title:** "Tägliche Aktivität über 3 Monate" (*Daily activity over 3 months*)
- **Y-axis:** "Aktivität pro Tag" (*Activity per day*), scaled from 2,500 to 7,000
- **X-axis:** "Datum" (*Date*), spanning from **15. Jul. 2026** to **15. Okt. 2026**

**What the chart shows:** The blue line remains fairly stable, fluctuating between roughly 6,000 and 6,800, from mid-July through early October. Then, around mid-October, it drops sharply. Two red annotation labels highlight the decline:

- **−30%** (falling to about 4,650)
- **−56%** (falling to roughly 3,000)

Immediately after Ukraine took out two of the five data centers run by the Russian tech giant Yandex, pro-Trump and pro-MAGA posts on American social media sites plummeted. The same happened to posts boosting Germany's far-right AfD. Russia is engaged in MASSIVE election interference.

Absolutely. All I'm saying is that if the rejoin campaign goes for the "no need to worry about the €, we can stay out forever", I fear it'll lose. Better to talk up how it would be great to join when the conditions are right.

So Burnham's comments at PMQs could be seen as defining what "once in a generation" means. The Good Friday Agreement specifies you have to wait seven years before you can have another referendum on Irish independence so if Scotland's under those terms we could have had one as of 2021.
