Ok folks, this is from the #MinCup26 voting page and honestly, gotta vote Pyromorphite, because lead remediation using bird poop is the coolest thing ever Plus it can be green
Polymorphite’s insoluablility and stability makes it far more valuable as a way of locking up toxic lead. The fungus Paecilomyces javanicus, particularly in combination with phosphate-rich bird poop, can clean up lead-contaminated soils by locking up metallic lead as pyromorphite. Researchers continue to investigate how inducing the formation of pyromorphite can help in soil remediation and mine-waste stabilization.White person with a yellow smiley face in a vividly bright green shirt and a dopy wide brimmed hat in front of tall grass prairie that is starting to yellow at the top but is still pretty green

In quadrupeds, we know they absorb shock, provide traction & protect the bone. They appear to have evolved in an early Carnivoran & are now a shared trait for Feliforms (cats), Caniforms (dogs), bears, skunks, weasels. But the pinnipeds (fur seals, sea lions, etc) lost them entirely.

Dedicated zoo staff support breed & release programs for critically endangered species. The Fort Worth Zoo gharial program has been running for 15 years & is one of the most successful in the world. They ensure that we can all continue to share a planet with these long-nosed crocodilians. 🐊❤️

A record-breaking eight critically endangered gharial crocodiles have hatched at the Zoo
The Fort Worth Zoo is celebrating a record-breaking fourth consecutive year of gharial crocodile hatchings, with eight gharials hatching this summer. This massive conservation achievement brings the Zoo's juvenile gharial population from 5 to 13 in one season. The milestone further solidifies the Zoo’s leadership in gharial conservation: Fort Worth Zoo remains the only institution in North America to have produced multiple offspring of this critically endangered species and the only institution to have successfully repeated the achievement in consecutive years.
