The long tail of Christianity becoming identified with Anglo culture minus any expectation of the personal transformation that comes with rigorous formation and ritual practice. Once Christ with was reduced to “my God, my faith, my salvation”, this was inevitable.

100%. For those unfamiliar, Van Halen had a line in their rider that essentially said “no brown M&Ms.” It was a way to see if the promoter had actually read the contract. Yesterday, while out and about, a family with a baby (about 10mos?) took it upon themselves to take a picture of their baby next to my ginger 4-year-old. They had no English. She was wearing a hijab, and they looked like they could be from anywhere east of Rome and west of Karachi. Any ideas WTF?
