Great thread. The “English” ethnic identity historically is much wider than a narrow mythical Anglo-Saxon lineage. It’s not conservative to change that.

Good column by Martin Wolf on Warsh’s approach. Tentative optimism. Unsurprisingly, Wolf likes the Mervyn King & John Kay argument that radical uncertainty makes things like forward guidance a nonsense (or, rather, correct in times when it’s not useful; incorrect when it might be informative).
