I feel bad for some Man City fans, it was a good football club, but the integrity of English football really demands that they’re expelled from the Premier League, and ideally the EFL don’t let them in either so they start from the bottom. Can’t risk the punishment being remotely “worth it”.

Since Nuremberg in 1945, international law has established that the "wanton destruction of cities, towns or villages, or devastation not justified by military necessity" is a punishable war crime. No serious international lawyer would deny that this is what Israel is doing in South Lebanon.

The Jewish News, which I am proud to work for as Deputy Editor, has published an editorial on this week's Iftar prayers in Trafalgar Square www.jewishnews.co.uk/voice-of-the...
Excerpt from the article:

"The question here is not really one of whether such prayer is in fact an attempt to “dominate” – or the more obvious explanation, that during Ramadan one breaks ones’ fast by eating very briefly just before and then more properly after the evening Maghrib prayer (yes, like our own Maariv prayer). Rather it is about whether one has the right to publicly express their religious identity in this country. In this specific instance, an event to mark a key event in the Islamic calendar had been openly and legally booked for Trafalgar Square. Muslims present had every right to pray as a part of that."

Hear hear.
We should be very clear: if you think that “British Muslims praying in Trafalgar Square to mark the end of the day’s fast” is a greater show of “domination” than anyone praying outside an abortion clinic, then you are hostile to Muslims, and you do not in any meaningful way support freedom of religion or expression.

Joe Kent is neither the worst person you know making a good point nor a broken clock; he’s a notorious antisemite and white supremacist who is blaming Jews to get out of a real job that’s quite difficult right now as we increasingly explode the world and create the conditions for terrorism.

Look, I think quite a bit of Green policy is bad because it’s ill-thought out for the world we live in or impractical, but I have limitless contempt for Starmer equating well-meaning pipe dreams to a far-right racist party that would drag the country back to the 1700s and reduce women to chattel.

The fact nobody in Scottish Labour has come out and supported Sarwar’s position yet suggests a siloed leadership, which is quite ironic considering it is Starmer’s siloed leadership that has directly led to this situation in the first place.
