Gloucs police say 5 men arrested on suspicion of explosives, pulled over en route to RAF #Fairford. Vehicles (3 big white vans) investigated. That's it so far. Ongoing drone footage on sky & BBC. Bomb disp robots have opened one van & looks like an oil drum on the road behind one.

St Mary, Whitby, North Yorkshire. The setting is memorable, high on a bluff looking out over the sea, above the pretty town shoehorned in on both sides of the estuary of the River Esk. The building huddles the cliff top, as if hunkered down against the gales, as wide as it is long.

I have been ranting for such a long time that the influx of Islamists into the country, aided and abetted by the hard-left and their accomplices in the charity sector, is becoming an existential crisis.
The far-left who cheerlead Islamist entryism because of their extreme privilege and lack of having a big fat Jewish ethnic minority target on their back are putting Jewish lives in extreme danger.
And, obviously, once they are done with us Christians, LGBT groups etc are next on the hit list.
This is so obvious to anyone with a brain cell but the amount of people who refuse to reckon with it is so depressing.

In (one of) my happy place(s) (Carry On, Jeeves - short stories from 1925)
'If half of what he has written is true, said Florence, your uncle's youth must have been perfectly appalling. The moment we began to read he plunged straight into a most scandalous story of how he and my father were thrown out of a music-hall in 1887!'
‘Why?'
‘I decline to tell you why'
It must have been something pretty bad. It took a lot to make them chuck people out of music-halls in 1887.

Wes Streeting * @wesstreeting • 3h Escalating tensions in the Gulf can have a serious impact at home in the UK, disrupting trade and energy supplies and increasing prices for businesses and families.
The Houthis are a dangerous threat to regional stability and it is in the UK's national economic and security interest that they do not succeed.
That's why, following a request from the Saudi Arabian Government, the UK has agreed to provide an RAF Voyager air-to-air refuelling aircraft to support Saudi defensive operations in support of the legitimate government of Yemen.
We unequivocally condemn the Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia and are clear that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Yemen, who are long-standing partners of the UK and play a vital role in regional stability, have the right to defend themselves.
It is in the UK's national interest to protect regional stability, protect vital trade and energy supplies, and see a diplomatic resolution to the conflict in Yemen.
