It takes an incredible amount of grit, persistence, determination, and every other component of “tough” to survive this world as a fattie, trannie, radical, etc. If this man had to go a day under the conditions those folks have to endure, I expect he’d crumple like tin foil.

Kudos to Naomi Buck, who did a deeply reported story about the prov’s TDSB takeover, and did not lol when asked on Metro Morning “so has it made anything better”. A better woman than me (I fell off my bed laughing at the q).

New HP drag just dropped, my younger heard that a character’s first name is Minerva, then tsked and said “well that seems very disrespectful to Athena”. Gen Alpha stays winning!

Today is Nakba Day. You cannot understand what lies at the heart of conflict in the Middle East unless you understand what happened to 85% of Palestinians in 1948. Here Eugene Rogan explains how hundred of thousands ended up as homeless refugees in Gaza

The John Wick series is so effective because it fully embodies the three major tenets of dumb guy fantasy: 1. being able to kick anyone’s ass, 2. living by a code of honor, and 3. paying for things with gold coins

Yes it’s Valentine’s Day. But it’s also the chosen birthday of Frederick Douglass who was born in 1818 on a plantation in Talbot County, Maryland. He escaped from slavery & rose to become the most eloquent and forceful voice for the abolition of slavery & for Black voting rights in the U.S.

Unserious PSA: When you’re getting sick or just feel really worn out, it is sublime to lie in bed and listen to the audiobook of a familiar story while gently dozing. Murderbot diaries read by Kevin Free is 10/10 for this purpose.

I think it's best for everyone to understand that the unified class project of billionaires right now is to do to white collar workers what globalization and neoliberalism did to blue collar workers.

Genuinely curious. I keep hearing people use “actually” to preface agreement or endorsement of something someone else says. In my mind, saying “that’s actually right/brilliant/helpful” suggests you were not expecting the speaker to be any of those things, so “actually” makes it pretty insulting

Love this bc it captures why e-bikes are not appealing to pple who like biking. It’s like how audiobooks are often not appealing to people who like reading. As a non-biker previously, I love e-bikes as an alternative to public transit or driving - biking wasn’t an option before.

Hey so “underage girls” are…children. The word you’re looking for is children. They’re not like, women-in-waiting or women-lite or whatever. They’re children. I think some of you are very uncomfortable with what that means for you but it is still true.
