Even before A.I, Black students were often accused of not writing essays and reports. How could THIS kid possibly write that well. Imagine what it's going to be like now.

Mark Zuckerberg is a monster.
At least one AI company is thinking about monetizing its users' mortality. Last year, Meta was granted a patent for an AI system that could keep a user account active well after death. In the words of the patent, "the language model may be used for simulating the user when the user is absent from the social networking system, for example, when the user takes a long break or if the user is deceased". It's a depressing thought, the idea of posting for ever. It's also potentially lucrative for Meta, as the company could continue to train its model through these zombie accounts.

this is a very important point: the panic over medical care for trans kids is almost entirely about transmascs meanwhile, the panic over trans people in sports is almost entirely about transfemmes both are patriarchy and misogyny in action, just cutting opposite ways

Was watching Buffy’s Anya backstory episode. Friend asked why I sighed. “She’s not of a sufficiently high social class to have domesticated rabbits that far north in Europe in that century, but the writers couldn’t know, the paper was only presented at a conference yesterday.” Accuracy is fleeting.

bigospeedrun.com/3sum I don’t understand why people normalize thin matrix products 3SUM don’t count if you do thin matrix products like if you have to reduce to be able to 3SUM you suck at algorithms. This has always bothered me. congratulations you’re the best at thin matrix products

More seriously, it is National Coming Out Day here in the semi-dystopian United States, so I want to reiterate this: there is no “too old.” No such thing as “too old” to come out, whether as trans, gay, bi, ace, anything. Self-knowledge comes at a cost and takes you as long as it takes you.

The image is of a four panel comic.
The first panel is titled “things that are spooky”. We see a book of hexes, a skull, candles, a pentagram in blood, and vampire teeth. Pointing off panel we see a speech bubble that says “I love it”.
The second panel is titled “things that are cute”. We see a strawberry cake, a boba drink, a bunny plushie, and a cute notebook and pen. Again, we see a speech bubble pointing off panel that says “I love it”.
The third panel is titled “things that are spooky AND cute”. We see a row of cute decorative ghosts.
The fourth panel shows Sarah, the protagonist, completely freaking out at this combination.

This is unsurprising because ai generated code *is* ai generated text. Code is text. People think code is different because you can test to see if it runs. But that just tells you if it runs (or passed the tests defined in the code) It does not and *cannot* tell you if it makes sense
