The Garlic's editorial staff apologizes for an incorrect headline. The correct headline should have read: "Be meaner daddy, I'm close!"

In this one! To learn from history and develop caution to not increase the number of engineering disasters. I studied history! In engineering classes. Every dynamics of structures class teaches about the "Tacoma Narrows Bridge". This is why humanities are important, to teach engineers humility.

Only One More Cruelty Needed From Parents To Convince Queer Adult Woman That She Has Always Been Loved. In an interview Saturday while waiting in line to pick up her hormones at a CVS inside Target, Alea (38F) said that a recent visit from her father really let her understand how the one parent

This is called "Posting through it." It is an inexpensive alternative to therapy, and you really do get what you pay for.

My wife and I welcomed my father into my home for an overnight visit last night. We walked my land in the mountains talked about the house we are building. When we came home we played Tokaido and prayed a rosary together. He never said my name, and he misgendered me every time he referred to me.

Transition really is "New Game Plus", it's a reset on hard mode, but you get to start with a lot of knowledge and sometimes useful resources.

I've never dyed my hair, but I think I'd like to? Either darker or redder, but only a smallish shift in color. I've heard good things about using a henna based hair treatment, and/or a indigo based colorer. Please internet people, tell me what you know!

Went out for some astrophotography with @willawillnot.bsky.social and ended up taking a few extra non-space photos for fun when there wasn't a break in the clouds.

Years of hearing "learn your angles" and "set up three source lighting" and "know what lens length works for you". All beaten by facetiming a friend late at night.

I miss games that didn't have 30-90GB updates every few months, I'd stopped gaming on my console when I got busy, and now I have a free evening to....not play games because they'll take hours to finish updating.

I do not think that it is a particularly good time to be making large permanent publicly available lists of queer people.

The majority of the trans women I know who have health insurance, are on grey/black-market HRT anyway, for those without health insurance, basically all.

Keep in mind the Xbox 360 rendered Halo reach at 1280x720, so there was no possible way to tell if the half-dozen pixels representing an opposing player was the femm or masc shape. The spartan charging the opponents with the massive gravity hammer, was the priority target no matter the gender.

𝔸𝕝𝕖𝕒 𝕃𝕒𝕔𝕜𝕖𝕪 @alea.bsky.social · 29/08/2026

My excuse for playing a woman spartan in HALO Reach despite the identical hit-box, was that the feminine silhouette was less instinctually threatening, and thus I would be less prioritized. I don't known what it says about me and my roommate, that I made that argument and that he accepted it.

So, I love "The Old Guard" and so I watched "The Old Guard 2" on vacation, and I have to say: I want those two hours back. It was terrible, bad CGI clumsy choreography, high school sitcom levels of not talking about the important thing, and a stunning lack of maturity for people centuries old.
