MUDs <medically underserved areas> receive funds bc myriad issues. A lot of loans for doctors offer discounts if you serve in a mud for x-amt of time, eg; but the pool for other/qualified employees is smaller with no such reciprocity.

I followed some of this yesterday and perused that person’s stuff for a couple minutes before blocking them. I kept thinking, does this person not eat vegetables? Do they not know where foods come from? Rural amrka is fabulous, and everyone who lives ‘there’ are not worthless..

the real effective targeted policy would be "destroy car dealerships and end farm subsidies propping up reactionaries growing corn" because it'd more directly impact the biggest local GOP donor/organizing coalitions in those areas & throw in "prosecute labor law violations like a vengeful god", too

When i lived in NM the local hospital served a large rural ag area. You had to go 2hrs by land to get to a major medical center, if you didnt ride the whirlybird. Sometimes you had to ride fixed-wing to go to get treatment.

property owners in AZ’s Maricopa county pay a county wide special tax It funds the Valleywise Health public hospital system, which operates medical centers, emergency rooms, and community clinics across Maricopa County I know because I worked for it, and it offered a pension to ER staff.
