I love where I live in the #Chicago suburbs but everytime I go in to the city it makes my heart sing. I also get a little nostalgic for 1990s/early 2000s Chicago, but mostly I'm just glad for a city day.

It turned out to be a false alarm, but I got a text from my child to say her high school was on lock down. Politicians act like there's nothing to do because it's all hard. Just because it's hard, doesn't mean we can't do something. Children being slaughtered should create some sense of urgency.

Two things: 1.) It is unconscionable not to help stranded Americans get home. 2.) Nothing and no one is perfect, but in a time when so much of what I hear about government is concerning, crazy, or both, I really appreciate my governor and some other IL elected officials.
