AI should mean shorter hours and better lives. If companies can produce more with less labor then workers deserve to share the gains. Using that technology to destroy livelihoods while shareholders cash in is a choice workers have every right to fight.

I voted already and voted Democrat. But continued dependence on the Democratic Party channels socialist organizing into strengthening a party committed to capitalism.

A vote doesn’t have to be a pledge of loyalty. It can be a demand that politicians answer for the wars they start and the lives they destroy. But accountability can’t end at the ballot box. Keep the pressure on whoever wins.

Artists deserve a say in how their work is used and a secure living. A licensing deal between Disney and an AI company guarantees neither. AI should give people more time to create. Under corporate control it becomes another way to cut jobs and concentrate wealth.

The far right feeds on real anger over falling living standards, then turns that anger against immigrants. Winning the midterms matters, but Democrats can’t defeat Trumpism by offering people the same politics that helped create this crisis.

More people are turning to food banks as it costs more to keep their trucks running. Trump cuts food assistance while his war drives up fuel prices; then families and volunteers are left to deal with the damage. www.commondreams.org/news/food-ba...

Growing frustration with Trump could benefit Democrats in November. Still, a change in congressional control won’t automatically resolve concerns about war, living costs and public services. Both parties should be judged by their policies and results.

Workers in other countries aren’t our enemies. We’re told to accept layoffs and cuts while our governments pour money into war. We need to organize across borders and refuse to keep sacrificing our lives and livelihoods for the people getting rich off us.

People are tired of being treated like votes to collect every few years. Show up between elections. Help people keep their homes and fight for decent wages. Give them real power over decisions. You can’t build a movement by asking for loyalty you haven’t earned.

Universal healthcare and affordable housing supposedly take decades. But billions for war, police surveillance, and corporate handouts appear overnight. The problem was never time. It’s who the system is built to serve.

Wall Street has built another house of cards on $40 trillion in federal debt and mountains of borrowed money. If it collapses, they’ll bail out the speculators again, then tell workers there’s no money for wages, healthcare, or Social Security. We shouldn’t pay for their crisis.

Macklemore said “Free Palestine” and billionaire venue owners pushed him off the tour. That is political blacklisting. The artists who walked out showed more courage than those hiding behind “neutrality.” Silence during a genocide is not neutral. It is a choice.

9/11 marked another important anniversary. Chile in 1973 showed what happens when democracy threatens powerful interests. Washington helped undermine Allende, and Nixon wanted to “make the economy scream.” Fifty-three years later, that history still matters. www.wsws.org/en/articles/...

What's striking about Enemy of the State is how much it feels like a post-9/11 movie, even though it came out in 1998. After 9/11, the Patriot Act, expanded warrantless surveillance, NSA data collection, and later the Snowden revelations made the movie’s paranoia seem much less far-fetched.

The biggest legacy of September 11 is not only the attacks themselves but also what the U.S. government did afterward. The wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, the broad 2001 authorization for military force, the Patriot Act, expanded surveillance, and the creation of the Department of Homeland Security.

This American Psycho poster nails one of the film’s biggest themes: facelessness. Everyone looks the same, dresses the same, and chases the same status. Bateman isn’t an outsider. He’s just another interchangeable face in a world where nobody really sees anyone.
