(1) The accused declared, ordered, or otherwise indicated that there shall be no survivors
or surrender accepted;
(2) The accused thereby intended to threaten an adversary or to conduct hostilities such
that there would be no survivors or surrender accepted;
(3) It was foreseeable that circumstances would be such that a practicable and reasonable
ability to accept surrender would exist;

Draining every single possible funding source available to keep OpenAI from dying as Sam Altman goes on TV and says "if money doesn't keep flowing into the system it fails" www.theinformation.com/briefings/op...
OpenAI expects to raise an additional $10 billion from financial investors by the end of March, adding to the $110 billion it’s secured from SoftBank, Amazon and Nvidia, according to a person with knowledge of the discussions.

That additional funding will bring OpenAI’s post-investment valuation to $850 billion, including a $35 billion tranche of funding from Amazon conditional on the ChatGPT-maker either going public or achieving artificial general intelligence—a loosely defined term referring to AI that’s on par with humans.

OpenAI’s nonprofit entity, which has a stake in the for-profit OpenAI that’s now worth $180 billion, may sell several billions of dollars of its shares to the financial investors, depending on the level of investment demand the for-profit receives in its fundraise, the person said. That would help other OpenAI shareholders avoid additional dilution of the value of their shares following the large equity fundraise.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman currently doesn’t have equity in the company and isn’t receiving any as part of the latest transaction, the person with knowledge said.

OpenAI is raising an unprecedented amount of capital to be able to overcome the $219 billion in cash burn it has projected between now and 2029. It has projected it would generate cash for the first time in 2030.

A journalist in Cuba caught US embassy staff hoovering up insane amounts of gasoline while the island is blocked by the U.S. from importing oil. The U.S. responded by sanctioning the journalist. We are doing all this for freedom, of course.
El Necio
@ElNecio_Cuba
Translated from Spanish
STATEMENT #1 ✍️ According to Miami media outlets, the US is imposing a sanction on me for practicing journalism.

I am an ordinary young Cuban. Five years ago, I began doing my work through social media and collaborating with press outlets. I have no employment ties whatsoever to the Cuban government: currently, I do not work in press media or state institutions.

In their report, they refer to my latest journalistic investigation as "harassment," in which I demonstrate the purchase of fuel (gasoline) by US diplomats in Havana: the very same fuel that they block from Cuba, only to consume it themselves afterward.

The sanction is irrelevant to me. I have never had, nor have I ever requested, a visa to enter the US. It has never even crossed my mind to visit that country, with so much beauty in Latin America and so much humanism in the neighborhoods of my own country.

But we do need to denounce this serious violation of press freedom. Because this is not a personal attack, but a precedent for censorship and coercion against every young Cuban who speaks out against the blockade on Cuba or who practices journalism that does not please the Trump administration.

It is a clear attack on the practice of free and independent journalism that I carry out, guided by ethical principles, with source triangulation and verifications. My work is to spread the truth, not to please the power that sanctions me.
From José Martí, I learned that "journalism is a sword, and its hilt is reason. Only the good should wield it, and it should not be for the extermination of men, but for the necessary triumph over those who oppose freedom and progress."

Here I will remain, in Cuba, telling the truth of my circumstances, the harshness of these trying times, making the necessary critiques, and fighting for a better world.

Even if California ends up not buying any and the funds go back to the state, Elon is still accomplishing his goal of opportunity cost: wasting public time on tech he doesn't intend to deliver when real, proven solutions (like goddamn TRAINS) could be built within the same time period.
State officials have stated that certification processes involve confidential business information and that funding will only be released once all requirements are met and vehicles are delivered. Nevertheless, the reservation of vouchers effectively limited access to funding for other manufacturers with production-ready electric trucks, as HVIP operates on a first-come, first-served basis and funding rounds are typically oversubscribed within days.
