The thing I explain to people when I do IRL advocacy work is that trans rights are almost entirely an issue of autonomy, bodily and otherwise. There is no way to remove trans people from the country without also removing other types of autonomy. Abortion, divorce, privacy: it's all the same war.

I think that this will make AI inference less reliant on massive datacenters when usable models can be run locally on your desktop with the capability of frontier models of a year ago. If the bubble finally pops, the massive overbuilding of datacenters will mean fire sales on hardware.

When people offer up good-sounding excuses that are false, it always tells me they are acting in bad faith. E.g., a college sports union can (and probably would) bargain with its league -- a private entity called "the conference" -- and not with each individual school.

In an op-ed urging Congress to pass the bipartisan Protect College Sports Act, New York Yankees (MLB) President/Saving College Sports Roundtable Vice Chair Randy Levine outlines the existential financial threats facing collegiate athletics and systematically pushes back against key political and industry opposition.
