I am giving a talk this Tuesday at @Harvard Neural Development Club about how minimal memory of spatial patterning confers flexible neuronal fates, thanks to @yichiahuang.bsky.social for the invitation. Thrilled to meet folks in Boston. Food provided. Apr 21, 5:30 PM, Warren Alpert 236

If using Bloomigton #Drosophila Stock Center stocks, pls. acknowledge them & their NIH funding (P40 OD018537). Papers listing this no. are being harvested as evidence. We massively depend on the @bdsc.bsky.social & they need our support in these dire times! @flybase.bsky.social @fly-eds.bsky.social

This was the last @hhmi.org conference Lilly and Yuh-Nung Jan attended as investigators. They're becoming HHMI emeritus but still run a thriving NIH-funded lab. From cloning the first potassium ion channel (Shaker) to decoding neuronal development, the Jans have made a huge impact.

It was a great pleasure to speak at the Single-cell Research Workshop organized by @perrimonlab.bsky.social and Professor Hongjie Li at #DROS25. It’s exciting to see all the rapidly evolving work diving deep into the diverse aspects of biological processes! (Photo credit: Yu-Chieh David Chen)

All editors rely on Pol3 because we use its promoters to transcribe the gRNA from plasmid vectors. I never thought something so cell-essential would be regulated. -> food for thought wrt editing cell types in various states.
