Current gov's embrace of far-right talking points, incl. pronouncements by Winston Peters et al against WHO, & pandemic preparedness frameworks have inexorably led to amplification, & normalisation of what were once fringe lunacy or beliefs. NZ'ers should take note, & vote wisely come Nov. #nzpol

Trump has not helped end the war in Ukraine. He has prolonged it. In doing so, he has sided with autocratic Russia and against democratic Ukraine. That pivot has further undermined America’s reputation as the 'leader of the free world'.

Did cutting off US military and economic assistance "soften" Putin's position? Did denying Ukraine any chance of NATO membership "soften" Putin's position? These guys have no clue about how Putin thinks.

Leaving aside the wrong-headedness of abstaining on this vote, I'm quite uncomfortable with the fact that our Foreign Minister effectively used this UN vote for populist politicking ends of his own party in election campaigning, instead of putting country ahead of party as a professional should do.

That’s because we have human empathy. Musk, Trump, Putin, and all such sociopaths, narcissists, Fascists & NAZIS, don’t feel nor believe in empathy; being too self-important to ever need empathy themselves. Neither Trump, Putin, nor Musk lie awake at night worrying about the millions they’ve killed.

“Zelensky is overplaying his hand” a White House official reportedly told The Atlantic. Imo, Trump will find out soon that it is he who overplayed his hand. He's trying to help Putin, pressure Ukraine, and boost his midterm results, but he's likely to fail at all three…

Don't know about hourly service but that's for sometime in the future. For starters, we're only looking at Hamilton + maybe Tauranga that will likely be an add-on to an existing Hamilton service. So I don't imagine capacity for that level of service being an issue at Maungawhau.

Yeah I think it's very unlikely to get slots through Britomart Tunnel. But despite AT's direct West-Onehunga services, they're only every 30mins so should be space at Maungawhau if inner south line has capacity through Newmarket and Grafton.

Words have consequences. When Aotearoa signed up to climate action and then this gov't refuses to lift a finger or u-turn on climate action, it must have consequences. This time it's trade & foreign policy implications. The real world consequence is more flood, more emergencies in the future. #nzpol
