This new slow zone was so painful this morning, causing not just this slowdown but train traffic all the way up to Eglinton. I’m sure it’s going to cause unsafe levels of crowding on Tues/Wed/Thurs during AM rush hour. Doubt the TTC is going to proactively try to redirect traffic tho :///

We did a wool dying workshop at black creek pioneer village, run by the Toronto Art Club. We used alum mordant, dyes from avocados, onion skins, cabbage, and turmeric, plus iron and copper solutions as modifiers. Was really surprised at how bright of a green colour I got from cabbage + turmeric!

The TTC has provided a table on "Reduced Speed Zones" on their website for the past few years. It just has a static map and is hard to interpret the real impact on riders. I have created a tool that pulls this data daily and will provide real info on how this delays riders.

Driving a car is incredibly dangerous, it should be one of the most regulated experiences on earth, and it is very upsetting to watch people who correctly don’t trust the cops turn against automated enforcement because the alternative is relying on a cop’s judgement to enforce the laws.

Why is the line shut down between 9 stations due to a security incident at SB College? Makes no sense. Announcements are inaudible and unhelpful. My train is literally in this zone right now (NB Bloor) and is still in service. 🤷

Both were big deals that were supposed to be done before the end of the term. Pretty big fail by City Planning and PHC.

If we’re naming streets we want pedestrianized I want Yorkville! There are so many parking garages around here and most of the cars are rideshare pickup/dropoffs which can just be done in a dedicated area. The streets are already cobblestone and the pedestrians way way outnumber the cars.
