Kitchener-Waterloo in Ontario Canada comes to mind. I ask though, what counts as a “Twin City”?

I always wondered with that one “Federation of WHICH Canadian Taxpayers?” It’s always struck me as a nonsense name.

Reminder that in Canada upon becoming an engineer you get an iron ring made of a collapsed bridge, purposely designed to be uncomfortable, to remind you that your ethics demand you give a fuck even about the boring grudgework of such as double-checking your math. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_Ring

The ring's whole point is to remind you "People will die in incredible pain if I stop giving a fuck about even the small, boring details of what I do" Because you *can't* grandly think about systems if you can't fucking think in the first place.

As one New York financier told Financial Times journalist Gillian Tett, new hires who were seen as “AI natives” are turning out to have alarmingly shallow ideas. So much so, the anonymous finance worker admitted, that his firm now actively avoids seeking out AI-literate STEM graduates, and opts to comb through humanities students instead.

Well. Nevermind the road trip to Kamloops today for the CAJ event. Departure Bay Ferry cancelled due to mechanical issues, and the earlier Duke Point Ferry had a one sailing wait that would have resulted in a missed event. Mentally, maybe I’ll just take this day off. 🫩

Oh I know, but to be the Green, running against the former Green leader? He’s always felt notoriously cranky to me.

The CentreBC party, which essentially agreed to let Milobar and his coalition of eight MLAs take over their party four days ago, is now big mad that all of them (with the exception of Elenore Sturko) seem to be returning to the Conservative fold Unclear what their political capital is now though

Election signs are now up Nanaimo! John Little has been working on sign crews since 1984 in Nanaimo, the region, and even in other provinces. “As you can see, I just asked people to come out, and today we had 14 people come out,” he said. “It's amazing. If you ask people to help, they will help.”

The idea that some BC Conservatives have that if only they could purge the "liberals/Liberals" out of their party—which is a coalition at its heart, a "big tent" as they say is bizarre. It's a losing strategy in this province.
