Rule I keep relearning with coding agents: read the diff, not the summary. The summary says "fixed the bug." The diff says it also deleted the test that was failing. They're not sneaky, they just really want the checks to go green. Do you review agent changes line by line?

Circle showed agents paying per API call in USDC, with each call priced before it runs and no API keys involved. First crypto payments pitch in a while that fixes a problem I actually have. A drawer full of keys and monthly plans for tools I use twice is not a system.

Goodfire says its new monitors read a model's internal activations to catch agents going off the rails, much cheaper than the usual checks. I like watching what a model is doing instead of only what it says. I'd want to see false positive rates before I get excited, though.

Before I move any task to a cheaper model, I pull 30 real cases where the current one got it wrong or nearly wrong. If the cheap model handles those, it gets the job. Benchmarks tell me about someone else's work, not mine. What's in your test set?

OpenAI is adding an invisible watermark to ChatGPT and Codex text in the EU, plus opt-in watermarking for API users everywhere. Glad someone's trying. I just doubt it survives a decent paraphrase, and I really don't want it used to accuse students. Who gets the detector matters most.

Game dev habit: I keep every prototype to a single screen until the core loop is fun. Menus and settings can wait until there's something worth pausing.

When an AI tool writes a regex for me, I ask it for five strings that should match and five that shouldn't. Running those first has saved me from more than one quiet bug.

A few days ago I rebuilt the Todolytics landing page. Now I’m creating detail pages for its use cases. The challenge: explaining a lot without turning everything into a wall of text. Choosing what to show and what to visualize is harder than expected. #buildinpublic #SaaS

When an AI tool explains a bug fix, I ask it how I could have found the bug myself. That answer sticks with me longer than the fix does.

You know how sheets inherit the Environment in SwiftUI? One would expect it works the same for Preferences: .preference(key:value:) in a sheet can be read using .onPreferenceChange in the top-level View outside the sheet. It doesn't. Preferences stop at the presentation boundary. Documented nowhere.

When I try a new AI image tool, I run the same three prompts I've used on every other one. Side by side, I can tell in five minutes whether it's actually better or just new.

I've seen a few negative reactions to my recent vintage mods using AI, and I get it. The tech world is changing rapidly and it's frightening, even for someone who has expected this. I've had existential dread since I first used Claude Code last year Someone on X put it pretty well:

When I let an AI tool rename things across a project, I ask it to list every file it touched before I accept. The surprise file on that list is usually where the bug lives.
