We have a couple of light rail lines in SF that share street lanes with car traffic. This makes them AGONIZING. But that is because of the cars and design, not because of the train! Even with that, they are PACKED. People love trains over cars for so so much, given the chance!

At the stop for the 33 and the driver let some of the people in the stop on and then, even though the bus was practically empty, when the light turned yellow, he closed the doors, gunned it through the intersection. We were waving and screaming for him to not leave us. The next bus is in 45 minutes.
