For 11 years I’ve lived in Japan, and until today, had never been to either of Tokyo’s Disney resorts. I got a free ticket from my employer, so today I went, and it was… awful? I had a very bad time from start to finish, which was only a couple hours.

I am a luddite and to me there is a lot of joy in technology. In technology that we deploy for all our wellbeing. Solar panels and vaccines, high-speed rail and wikipedia. But they joy stems from the feeling of being able to be part of humanity in an embedded, meaningful way. Not from buying shit.
