in my experience, older people who have no concept of genderqueerness will have no idea I'm transmasc until my voice gets perfectly male. they never assume that any deviation from traditional gender roles/appearances could mean you're trans, they just think you're a tomboy or a fggot

My boyfriend told me the other night that a raccoon lived with him for a year. It used to come by & steal dog food from his porch. One night, he left the door open & it wandered inside. They used to eat potato chips & watch movies together. He's literally lived my dream & waited 4 months to tell me.

i might have been traumatised by my adhd parents. i never felt like i was getting their undivided attention, and that's pretty hard on a developing child. it was even worse in conversations where i was talking about some interest of mine and they just hm'd in response or visibly zoned out...
