Video of an ICE agent pulling a gun on a wife and mother, who is a US citizen born and raised in the area, near Bailey's Crossroads in Northern Virginia yesterday. Chillingly, they claimed she “almost ran them over” until she told them she had video proving that was a lie.

www.abc.net.au/news/2026-08... In NSW there’s far more AirBnB’s than there are long term rental listings. The numbers are staggering. And residents are being pushed out for short term profits and those enjoying their holidays with homes to go back to. These are creating #homelessness. #auspol 🤬
abc.net.au
In towns where thousands of homes are Airbnbs, renters want a tax
Homelessness NSW says it is easier to get a holiday rental than a long-term rental — and that needs to change. But the industry says those claims are unfair.

If you have a home listed on AirBnB do us all a favour: return it to the long term rental market, and look down upon anyone suggesting they’re ethically investing while stockpiling short term rental listings as their main “passive income”. 😡 #auspol #InvestForSociety 🤨 #housing

This is a mind blowing number of airbnbs. “Ms Rowe said there were 49,985 short-stay listings across the state compared to 22,347 long-term rentals. “The Mid North Coast had 4,676 Airbnb listings to 584 long-term rentals and the Northern Rivers… had 5,303 Airbnb listings and 393 ongoing rentals.”

Ok Rant incoming: We’ve got housing so wrong in Australia. So wrong. In so many ways. Firstly, in a country as wealthy as Australia, how do we have people who are homeless? That is inexcusable. Second, the quality and type of housing is often (not always) quite poor for such a wealthy country.

Even mild COVID can cause long-term eye problems, with patients suffering from severe or long COVID reporting ocular symptoms 3 to 42 months later. Viral inflammation concentrated in the eyes and nerves restricts the pupil from narrowing, overexposing light, hindering focus, and causing headaches.

"Interest rates and tax shake-up see buyer demand weaken in property market"Joshua Goodfellow has been searching for two months for his first home, which he will use as an investment property.

But a trio of interest rate hikes, Labor's tax reforms and global economic and geopolitical uncertainty has forced the 18-year-old to press pause on house hunting. Mr Goodfellow, a small model train business owner from New South Wales, plans to stay out of the market for at least three months to let the economic climate settle.

💢 An Israeli drone strike killed a Palestinian woman and wounded several others Monday near the Abdul Rahman bin Auf Mosque, west of Al-Zawayda in central Gaza, the Palestinian news agency Safa reported. The woman was identified as Nadia Kamal Ayash.

Israeli forces continued operations across the Strip, demolishing homes in eastern Gaza and opening fire from military vehicles east of Khan Younis amid artillery shelling, according to Safa.

The agency said Israeli forces also expanded the so-called “yellow line” area for a second day by laying concrete blocks west of Khan Younis, while drones flew low over the area.

Israel’s continued violations of the Gaza ceasefire have killed more than 986 Palestinians and wounded 3,138 since the truce was announced last October, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
