all while the idf holds thousands in brutal gulags and millions in displaced territories meanwhile the palestinian death toll is uncountable but has seen daily increases for over three years, while the israeli death toll in their conflict with hamas has not changed since october of 2023!

and while it still does the 'page me backwards ten posts at a time from where i started' bit pretty well, it's a little flashier and misses out the way it literally bookmarked a specific ten posts, so even if you then clicked back to the top of the feed, you could navigate back to *those posts*

you could pick an arbitrary number of pages of ten posts and say that's enough today, and it was a lot easier to make that mental break and just say i'm good, i'm out and either way it wouldn't auto-refresh if you looked at it wrong or run out of ram and skitter and make you lose your place forever

scrolling was best on old tumblr where your feed was just the ten most recent posts, then you could choose to either refresh and move forward chronologically from where you started, or hit 'see more' and move backwards, with each subsequent ten posts being a discrete url that held your place for you
